Workshops

The Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys offers workshops for adults and children throughout the year.  Please see our events page for more information on workshops for adults and seasonal workshops for children.

Private workshops for groups are offered on site and through outreach for schools, day cares, scout troop, home school groups, summer camps and friends.

Types of Workshops Offered:

Contact museum staff at 303-322-1053 or education@dmmdt.org for reservations or more information.  We can find a project that will work well for your group.  Our most popular projects include:

Fairies and Gnomes with or without miniature homes ($8-10 per child, ages 6 and older)

Robots made from recycled materials ($6 per child, ages 5 and older)

Finger Puppets ($6 per child, ages 5 and older)

Japanese Fish Kites ($6 per child, ages 3 and older)

Guatemalan Worry Dolls ($6 per child, ages 6 and older)

Castle Making ($10 per child, ages 6 and older)

Miniature Rooms ($10 per child, ages 6 and older)

For a complete list of workshops, please email the Assistant Director at education@dmmdt.org.

Ages:

Most of our workshops are designed for children ages 5 and older, although we do have several workshops for Early Childhood Education programs too.

Timing:

Workshops typically last for 35 to 45 minutes. On site workshops are paired with a self-guided tour of the museum, which lasts about 30 to 45 minutes.  Workshops can be scheduled during our regular business hours: Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 to 4:00 and Sunday 1:00 to 4:00.

Size:

Groups may include as few as 5 to as many as 45 children.  We have a $50 minimum fee for workshops.  We require one adult for every eight children who visit the museum.

Cost:

Workshops cost $6 to $10 per child and include admission to the museum.  Scholarships for those in need may be available.  Admission for adults is $6.

Accessibility:

Please note that most of our workshops are held in the basement of the museum, which is only accessible by stairs.  Please let staff know when scheduling if that poses a problem for anyone in your group so we can make other arrangements.
